Kapil Dev resigns as Cricket Advisory Committee Chief

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): Former India skipper Kapil Dev has resigned from his post as the head of the three-member ad-hoc Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
He resigned from the post days after Shanta Rangaswamy stepped down from the 3-member committee. Kapil did not reveal the reason for his resignation but wrote an email to the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), informing them about his decision.
“It was a pleasure to be part of the Ad-Hoc CAC to specifically select the Head Coach for the Men’s Cricket Team. I hereby tender my resignation from the same with immediate effect,” Dev wrote in an email to the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators
The former Indian captain’s decision to resign from the CAC comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Ethics Officer D.K. Jain sent a notice to the panel comprising of Kapil, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy with regards to allegations of conflict of interest as claimed by MPCA life member Sanjeev Gupta.
The three former players were part of the ad-hoc Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) tasked with appointing the head coach of the men’s cricket team. After sending their resignations to BCCI, Kapil and Rangaswamy will no longer have to reply to Jain on Gupta’s allegation.
