Kalabaisakhi: Orange warning issued for 10 districts

Bhubaneswar: The state of Odisha is experiencing unbearable heat these days while Kalbaisakhi rain will bring respite today, predicted MeT. Today, light to moderate rain is likely in South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda today as per the weather prediction.

An orange warning has been issued for 10 districts for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 40 to 50 kmph. This environmental situation will continue for another 5 days.

Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for 5 districts for lightning, thunder and wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph. Yellow warning has been issued for 5 districts for heat and heat and Kalbaisakhi rain.

In the last 24 hours, three districts of the state have recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, while Sambalpur has become the hottest city in the state with 40.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature will drop from May 23.
