Kalabaisakhi in Odisha for next 7 days

Bhubaneswar: Double low-pressure systems are likely to be forming over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea by the end of May. Due to Kalabaisakhi, the rain in Odisha is expected to lash out for the next four days extending up to seven days.

On May 21 that is tomorrow, the cyclonic can develop over the Arabian Sea near the coast of Karnataka. This will take the form of a depression by May 22 predicted the IMD.

The humidity in Odisha is on a rise and seems never ending. The coastal areas have been issued a yellow warning alert for humidity and severe heat.

As a result of the low pressure system and the Kalabaisakhi alias the Nor’wester the rainfall in Odisha is likely to continue for atleast the next four days extending upto seven days.

  • Maximum temperature is very likely to be near normal at many places over the districts of Odisha during week-1 (16th May, 2025 to 22nd May 2025).

Week 2 (23rd May 2025 to 29th May 2025)

  • Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely over the districts of Odisha during week-2 (23rd May 2025 to 29th May 2025)
