Kalabaisakhi for 3 more days

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave will return to Odisha after a brief respite, with temperatures expected to rise by 2-3 degrees from May 8, according to the Odisha weather department. However, for the next two days, the state will experience rain due to Kalabaisakhi, which will keep daytime temperatures low.

An orange warning has been issued for five districts – Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Gajapati – while a yellow alert has been issued for 14 districts, warning of rain and thunderstorms.

Coastal and southern Odisha districts are also expected to be affected by the nor’wester. Additionally, an orange warning has been issued for Gajapati district and North Odisha for the next 24 hours, predicting a higher impact of Kalabaisakhi.

Thunderstorms, rain, wind and hailstorms are expected till May 7, which will keep temperatures in check. However, temperatures are likely to rise in the state from May 8.
