Kalabaisakhi brings respite in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Kalabaisakhi brought in a respite from the sweltering heat in the state. People in western and central Odisha were relieved after the rains. The temperature in these places reduced from 5 to 12 degrees.

In southern coastal parts the highest temperature was increased by 4 degrees Celsius. Conditions of rain with thunderstorm, lightning and hailstorm can be witnessed up to May 2. At some places moderate to heavy rain can be witnessed sais the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

As many as five districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur were issued an orange warning for thunderstorm and lightning today. Similarly, the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul and Dhenkanal were issued a yellow warning. For the next five days the temperature is likely to remain the same. After that the temperature will rise by 2 to 4 degrees.
