Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad to Join Orissa High Court on May 12

Bhubaneswar: Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad is set to take oath as a Judge of the Orissa High Court on May 12, raising the total strength of judges in the court to 19.

His transfer was part of a series of recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium, led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, during meetings held on April 15 and 19. The Central Government approved the recommendations on May 2.

Born on July 20, 1964, Justice Shripad brings a wealth of legal and judicial experience. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court on February 14, 2018, and elevated to the position of Permanent Judge on January 7, 2020. Prior to his judicial appointment, he served as the Additional Solicitor General for the Karnataka High Court.

Justice Shripad’s induction into the Orissa High Court is expected to strengthen the judicial bench amid increasing caseloads and pending matters.
