Journalist Ratikanta Mohanty passes away

Bhubaneswar: Renowned journalist Ratikanta Mohanty passed away at the age of 70 in Bhubaneswar. He passed away after a prolonged illness at a private hospital this morning.

The eminent journalist started his journalistic journey with Dinalipi and then worked for The Asian Age, Paryabekhyak to name a few. He is known for his unwavering inclination to ethical journalism that earned him widespread acclamation.

He was popular among his colleagues and the readers for his dedication and integrity to the field. He is survived by wife Sipra Mohanty and two daughters, Puja and Bandana.

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi took to his X handle and expressed grief over the demise of the Ratikanta Mohanty. He wrote,”I am saddened and shocked to hear the news of the demise of senior journalist Ratikant Mohanty. As Rati Bhai, he was well known in the social and political sectors of the state. He will be remembered for his honesty, impartiality and dedication in his long journalism life. I pray for the eternal peace of his soul and express my condolences to the bereaved family. Om Shanti.”

LoP Naveen Patnaik also expressed grief on the death of the eminent journalist. He expressed condolences to his family members.
