Job card holders to mandatorily complete eKYC within 3 months

Bhubaneswar: The job card holders to mandatorily complete their eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification within the next three months, informed Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Supply Minister Rabi Narayan Naik on Friday.

While speaking to the newsmen, the Minister informed that the State government decided to conduct the eKYC of the job card holders after finding huge number of fake job cards. Those who fail to complete their eKYC process within three months will lose their cards, he warned.

“The four and half crore people of Odisha will definitely thank the present government for identifying fake job cards. Who are the owners of the fake job cards and who was syphoning off the money, shouldn’t the previous government given attention for this, the Minister questioned while adding that the concerned persons of the previous regime will be held accountable for such corruption.

“Till date, our government has given job cards to around 2 lakh poor and eligible beneficiaries who were deprived of getting the cards. There may be more eligible beneficiaries who are still waiting to get the job cards. We will provide them the card in due course of time as our aim is to make all the government schemes available at the doorstep of the people,” Naik said.
