Jharaphula Murder Case: Another Accused Arrested

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The mysterious death of Jharaphula Nayak, 21-year-old girl Ramadevi University student Jharaphula Nayak has taken a new turn, Jajpur police on Monday arrested the second accused and admitted that she was murdered.

The second accused Amresh Rout arrested from the Sunderpada area of the city on Sunday.

The prime accused and boyfriend of Jharaphula, Rakesh Swain was arrested by police a few days after the body of the deceased found dumped along the roadside

Jajpur superintendent of police (SP) Rahul PR said “Accused Amaresh Rout was arrested yesterday and forwarded to court. He had helped the main accused in the murder. The accused had booked a hotel room on behalf of Rakesh Swain where Jharaphula was murdered. He is a friend of the main accused and belongs to the same village,”

“Amaresh was absconding since the crime. Following a tip-off, he was arrested by the Jajpur police. Now, documents and evidence collection from the forensic lab is at an advanced stage,” the SP added.

On January 26, Rakesh and Amaresh allegedly murdered Jharaphula Jharaphula in the private guest house in Bhubaneswar. Later Rakesh and Amaresh both carried the deceased body on a two-wheeler vehicle and dumped it along the roadside near Mulapala Chowk in the Jajpur district
