Jagatsinghpur Assistant Collector Suspended for Misconduct
Jagatsinghpur: The Odisha government has suspended Umesh Chandra Lenka, Assistant Collector of Jagatsinghpur, following allegations of misconduct towards a woman employee at the District Collector’s office.
The alleged incident occurred on April 10, prompting the employee to file a complaint citing physical and mental harassment. The District Grievance Committee and the District Collector investigated the matter and submitted a report to the government.
Based on the findings, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari ordered Lenka’s suspension and initiated a departmental investigation.
Minister Pujari reaffirmed the state’s zero-tolerance policy against violence or abuse towards women, emphasizing Odisha’s commitment to safeguarding women’s rights.
