IT Employee Arrested for Marriage Promise Harassment
Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar arrested an IT professional, Subhash Nayak, on charges of sexually harassing a female colleague under the pretense of marriage. Nayak, an IT engineer, had been absconding for six months before surrendering to the police, leading to his arrest.
According to reports, Nayak and the victim worked together at the same IT firm. He allegedly engaged in a physical relationship with the woman, promising marriage, but avoided commitment and continued exploiting her.
The woman eventually filed a complaint against Nayak in June at the Badagada police station. During his time on the run, Nayak sought anticipatory bail, which was ultimately denied by the court. Following his surrender, police detained him, and an investigation is underway.
