IPS-IAS Couple’s Vigorous Service

Bhubaneswar (Surjit Kumar Dhal): Our State is proud to have superb and marvelous bureaucrats and IPS officers. Today we will discuss about the honest and capable IPS-IAS couple. Yes, we talk about IPS Anup Sahu and his wife IAS Roopa Roshan Sahu. Both the couple cleared their IPS and IAS in 2006.

Anup is a well hearted person and always dedicated to his duty. The Government also keep faith on him. Wherever and whenever disturbances take place, Government appoints Anup in that place to manage the situation.

In the time of Pipili rape case, when the total State was anger and shown black flags and protests, Anup was posted there as Puri SP to control and manage the situation. Similarly, in the time of Bhadrak communal violence, Anup was sent there for proper management of the disturbances. When he was posted as the DCP of State Capital, many crucial cases were solved by him and many important programmes were arranged and managed by him. The most important Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar was successfully managed by the super cop. Anup also adopted the school, where he was studied in Dhenkanal. Currently he is posted as the DIG of Intelligence.  

On the other hand, his wife and superb bureaucrat Roopa Roshan Sahu has done tremendous works for the State with remaining in various positions. The 2006 batch IAS was previously posted in various important positions like, Collector of Dhenkanal, Sundergarh and Khordha. Recently she got additional charge as Member Secretary to Poverty and Human Development Monitoring Agency amid the State Government’s efforts to contain the Coronavirus outbreak. She is now the Additional Secretary to Odisha Chief Minister.

Roopa and Anup are such a couple who serve the State with utmost dedication. Odisha needs more such type of officers for the betterment of the State.
