India’s first music museum to be set up in Thiruvaiyaru

Tamil Nadu, Dec 28: The Tamil Nadu Government has announced the setting up of country’s first music museum with assistance from the Central government in Thiruvaiyaru, which is the birth place of Saint Tyagaraja, one of the trinities of Carnatic music.

Tyagaraja was a renowned composer of Carnatic music and had composed thousands of devotional compositions, mostly in telugu in the praise of Lord Rama, many of which remain popular today. The Trinities of Carnatic music, which include Saint Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Syama Sastri.
