India-England ODI at Barabati on Feb 9, 2025

Cuttack: The highly anticipated one-day international (ODI) match between India and England will be held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9, 2025. Preparations for the event are progressing rapidly, with 80 percent of the work already completed, according to stadium authorities.
Key developments at the venue include ongoing construction of a lounge for the Chief Minister and legendary cricketers, along with enhancements to the seating arrangements. The traditional bamboo nets, which previously obstructed the view for spectators, are being replaced with more efficient cable-tied nets, offering fans clearer visibility during the match.
In a significant first for Barabati Stadium, radium stickers will be used to help spectators easily locate their seat numbers in the gallery. Additionally, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) is taking extra safety precautions by using anti-retardant fire spray for the first time. The spray will be applied to flammable materials such as cloth and wood a day before the match to reduce the risk of rapid fire spread.
Vishnu Prasad Mohapatra, Principal Consultant to OCA, confirmed these updates, emphasizing the stadium’s commitment to providing a safe and comfortable experience for all attendees.
Ticket sales for general spectators will begin on February 5 and 6, 2025. However, to avoid traffic congestion, the ticket counters will be moved inside the stadium, away from the main road. A special arrangement for women ticket buyers will also be made, with a dedicated female counter for every three male counters. A total of six counters will be available for ticket sales.
Fans eager to watch the game can look forward to purchasing tickets at the end of this month.
