IMD predicts light to moderate rain

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today predicted light to moderate rain in some parts of Odisha and humid conditions in other regions of the State.

As predicted by the weather department, the weather activities will continue till May May 15. Check the day-wise warnings:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of May 9):

• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore,Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
• LOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam and Gajapati.
• Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Angul, Boudh, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Nayagarh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
• Hot and humid conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam nad Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of May 9 to 8.30 AM of May 10):

• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Balasore, Sundargarh, Boudh, Angul, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Nuapada and Balangir and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
• YELLOW WARNING: Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of May 10 to 8.30 AM of May 11):

• Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam and Gajapati and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
• YELLOW WARNING: Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Boudh.
• Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
