IMD Predicts Heavy Rain in 7 Odisha Districts on April 15

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in at least seven districts of Odisha on April 15 (Tuesday), prompting the issuance of a Yellow Warning for the state.
According to the latest forecast, heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
In addition to the rainfall, the IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds in several districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also expected to affect many areas across coastal and interior Odisha, the MeT office added.
In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at several places in coastal Odisha and at isolated locations in the interior regions. Notably, heavy rainfall occurred in Ganjam district, located in south coastal Odisha.
Authorities have advised residents in the affected districts to remain cautious and take necessary precautions, especially in view of potential weather-related disruptions.
