IMD issues Yellow Warning for dense fog for 3 days

Bhubaneswar: Beware, if planning to travel during the morning hours as the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued Yellow Warning for dense fog in Odisha for next three days.
The weather department said that dense fog in different districts of the State would continue till January 30. Below is the day-wise warning issued by the IMD:
Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of January 28):
- Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Keonjhar.
- Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
- Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of January 28 to 8.30 AM of January 29):
- Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.
- Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar and at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Bhadrak and Sundargarh.
- Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of January 29 to 8.30 AM of January 30):
- Yellow Warning (Be aware) Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.
- Shallow to Moderate fog very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada and at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Angul and Dhenkanal.
- Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
Meanwhile, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) and Additional Chief Secretary issued an advisory to the district Collectors and SPs saying that the police and transport officials of respective districts may take necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog to avoid any road accident.
