IMD Issues Yellow Warning for 21 Districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha under the influence of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal that has thrown normal life out of gear in several coastal districts of Odisha.

A yellow warning for thunderstorms and lightning has been issued to 21 districts of Odisha for the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain/thundershower will likely affect Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada and Bolangir districts.

Residents in these regions are advised to remain cautious and prepared for potential disruptions caused by heavy rains and thunderstorms. The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today advised the fishermen of Odisha not to venture into deep sea. Meanwhile, the highest rainfall of 46.0 mm was recorded at Boudh while it was 32.4 mm at Paradip, and 29.0mm at Chandbali yesterday.
