IMD Issues Yellow Warning for 11 Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar:  Cloudy skies and intermittent drizzles persist across Odisha, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow warning for 11 districts until 9:20 AM today.

The affected districts include Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balangir, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, and Dhenkanal. The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for the next three hours, with rainfall expected to subside thereafter.

The ongoing showers are attributed to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, near the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu coasts. This has led to light to moderate rainfall across parts of Odisha.

However, the relief is expected to be brief. A fresh spell of rain is forecasted to begin from December 27, driven by western disturbances. Western Odisha is likely to experience rainfall by the evening of December 27 or during the early hours of December 28, according to the IMD.
