IMD Issues Thunderstorm Warning for Several Odisha Districts on March 20

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms across several districts of Odisha on March 20, issuing an Orange Warning for Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Sundargarh. These areas are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph.

Additionally, a Yellow Warning has been issued for Sambalpur, Deogarh, Boudh, Angul, and Jajpur, where thunderstorms with lightning and winds reaching 30-40 kmph are expected.

Residents have been advised to stay alert and seek shelter during storm activity to avoid lightning hazards. Farmers are encouraged to use hail nets to protect their crops and vegetables from damage.

The IMD predicts no significant change in daytime temperatures over the next two days, followed by a 3-5°C drop across Odisha.
