IMD Forecasts Rain, Relief from Cold Wave in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience a break from the intense cold wave as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rainfall across parts of the state over the next five days. A gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 3-5°C is expected during this period.
According to the IMD, light rain or thundershowers may occur today (December 18) in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput districts, while dry weather is likely in other regions.
On December 19, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi districts.
Thunderstorms with lightning are predicted for Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, and Deogarh on December 20.
Similar weather conditions are expected on December 21 and 22. However, temperatures might drop again after this period, bringing back cold wave conditions.
