IAS Pradeep Jena Awarded

Bhubaneswar (Surjit Kumar Dhal): Today, the State government has appointed two IAS officers in different important capacity. Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathi’s term expires in December this year and he has been appointed as the Chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council and Chief Adviser to the Chief Minister.
However, while Suresh Chandra Mohapatra has been given the post of Chief Secretary due to seniority, the top discussion is continuing on IAS Pradeep Jena’s appointment. Political analysts say he has been rewarded the post because he is in the good book of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
It is not less important that Pradeep Jena, 1989 batch IAS, has been appointed as Development Commissioner. There are 9 more IAS officers in the row. He obtained the post, beating the nine senior IAS officers. Of these nine, IAS GVV Sharma, a 1986 batch IAS officer, and SP Thakur are now the KBK chief administrators.
The two officers are followed by 1987-batch Tuhinkant Pandey, Nikunj Kumar Sundaray and Rajesh Burma. They are on Central Deputation now. RK Sharma of that batch is now the Agriculture Production Commissioner. 1988-batch IAS Parag Gupta is in the Central Deputation. Similarly, 1988-batch IAS CJ Benugopala is now a member of the Revenue Board, while Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra is now the Additional Secretary of the Health Department.
