IAS Bishnupada Sethi Under CBI Scanner
Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi has come under scrutiny in connection with the ongoing Bridge and Roof Company scandal. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently obtained a key letter written by East Coast GGM B.K. Singh, linking the officer to the case.
According to sources, on December 4, a letter was sent to the personal secretary of Bishnupada Sethi, who serves as the Principal Secretary of the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development Department. In the letter, GGM B.K. Singh and Bridge and Roof Company’s Chanchal Mukherjee sought a meeting with Sethi on December 5.
Two days later, on December 7, CBI arrested four individuals near the Mayfair Hotel in Bhubaneswar with Rs 10 lakh in cash. The arrests were linked to allegations of tender fixing involving multiple entities.
The CBI subsequently took GGM Chanchal Mukherjee of Bridge and Roof Company, Aditya Infra MD Debadutta Mahapatra, and Penta A Studio Director Santosh Maharana into custody for questioning. The investigation was conducted in two phases, spanning three days initially and five days in the second round.
Following the completion of these phases, the accused are set to remain in detention for an additional 14 days for further departmental inquiry.
The case continues to unravel, with the CBI closely examining all links and individuals involved in the alleged tender-fixing racket.
