How to prepare for the civil services Exam: Topper’s Tips
Here are some tips from UPSC examination topper Tina Dabi:
While the UPSC syllabus gives a list of topics to be studied, students must ensure they are thorough in current affairs.Basic books published by NCERT on history and social science(prescribed for class 10 and 12) are very helpful to get ready to face the General Studies part of the examination.
While preparing, aspirants must memorise the UPSC syllabus so that topics are on their finger-tips.This helps while c classifying information and ideas gleaned from the daily newspapers.
Chalk out a plan to complete a certain number of topics per week and set aside sufficient time to study those topics.
A daily routine of 6 to 7 hours of subject-matter reading and 1 to 2 hours of newspaper reading is required. You do require discipline and patience.
