Hostel Owner, Sons Assault Tenants Over Rent Dispute

Bhubaneswar: A heated rent dispute between a hostel owner and tenants escalated into violence in Kharvela Nagar, Bhubaneswar, on Wednesday.

According to CCTV footage now circulating online, the hostel owner and his two sons allegedly attacked two female tenants with wooden logs and tires, claiming they had not paid rent for several months.

The incident, recorded by a CCTV camera at the hostel, has gone viral, sparking public outrage.

Police arrived at the Laxmi Nivas hostel to investigate the matter and have arrested two individuals involved in the assault. An inquiry is ongoing.
