Hockey India Unveils 24-Member Squad for Women’s Pro League Europe Tour

New Delhi: Hockey India on Sunday announced the 24-member Indian Women’s Hockey Team for the upcoming European leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25, to be held in London, Antwerp, and Berlin from June 14 to 29.

India will face top-ranked teams—Australia, Argentina, Belgium, and China—playing each of them twice, beginning with a match against Australia on June 14.

Midfielder Salima Tete will lead the squad as Captain, while experienced forward Navneet Kaur will serve as Vice-Captain. The team features a blend of experienced players and promising young talent, with goalkeepers Savita and Bichu Devi Kharibam guarding the net.

The defensive lineup includes Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam, Jyoti, Suman Devi Thoudam, Jyoti Singh, Ishika Chaudhary, and Jyoti Chhatri. In midfield, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke, Sujata Kujur, Manisha Chauhan, and Neha are joined by attacking midfielders Lalremsiami, Sharmila Devi, Sunelita Toppo, Mahima Tete, and Salima Tete herself.

The forward line comprises Deepika, Navneet Kaur, Deepika Soreng, Baljeet Kaur, Rutaja Dadaso Pisal, Beauty Dungdung, and Sakshi Rana. The standby list includes goalkeeper Bansari Solanki and defender Ajmina Kujur.

India heads into the European leg following a spirited performance in the Bhubaneswar leg, where they recorded two wins, two draws, and earned a total of nine points, placing sixth in the standings. Highlights included a 3-2 win and a draw against England, followed by tough losses to Spain and Germany. A narrow 1-0 victory against Germany and a dramatic shootout win against the Netherlands after a 2-2 draw showcased the team’s resilience.

Chief Coach Harendra Singh emphasized the importance of the European leg, calling it a crucial test of the team’s mental toughness and tactical sharpness. “We’ve chosen a balanced squad that reflects the depth and readiness of our players. The team has shown great commitment during training camps and the Australia tour. This leg of the Pro League will help us build momentum and grow with every game,” he said.

The Indian Women’s Team aims to carry forward its momentum and continue evolving ahead of upcoming international challenges.
