Heavy Rainfall Continues to Lash Twin City

Bhubaneswar: Persistent heavy rain lashed Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for the second consecutive day due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. The IMD has issued a yellow warning for 12 districts including Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara.

“Light to moderate rain/thundershower likely to affect some parts of the districts of Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Balasore, Cuttack, Khordha, Rayagada, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam and Puri within next three hours,” the IMD bulletin said. “The rainfall will also not spare the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the bulletin read. The weather department has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.

The wet spell is likely to continue till today i.e. Friday, especially coastal Odisha and north and south interior Odisha will experience rain with thunder and lightning, he said, adding that the amount of rain will decrease gradually from Friday.
