Heavy rain alert: Chaar Dham Yatra suspended for Next 24 hours

New Delhi: Chaar Dham Yatra has been suspended for the next 24 hours in view of heavy rain alert, said Garhwal Division Commisioner Vinay Shankar Pandey to newsmen.
According to the sources, Chaar Dham Yatra has been reportedly suspended for the next 24 hours in view of heavy rain alert. Instructions have been given to police and administration officials to stop the pilgrims in Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Sonprayag and Vikasnagar. The information was given by Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey to newsmen.
The information comes after cloud bursts which has caused immense damage to different parts in Uttarkashi. Recently in a tragic incident 8-9 workers who were staying at an under-construction hotel site went missing after the construction site was damaged due to a cloud burst in Sillai Band on Barkot-Yamunotri Marg, Uttarakhand. This damage has also affected the Yamunotri Marg.
Taking to X, Uttarakhand CM Dhami said, “Sad news has been received about the landslide at 9 Kachi (near Bhairav temple) on the Yamunotri walking route. SDRF, police, forest department, medical and other teams are present on the spot for relief and rescue work. One injured has been rescued and sent to PHC Jankichatti for treatment. I pray to God for the well-being of all those affected.”
