Heat Wave: Yellow Warning Issued to 8 Districts

Bhubaneswar: The eastern state of Odisha is sizzling in summer heat. The intensity of heat and humidity is making daily life difficult. The searing temperature can be compared with fire rains from the sky especially in Western, southern and central Odisha. Jharsuguda has recorded the highest temperature at 45.4 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Sambalpur recorded 43 degrees, Hirakud stood at 42.2 degrees and Rourkela measured 42 degrees temperature. As many as four cities in Odisha recorded temperature of above 40 degrees. On the other hand, the respite provided by the Kalabaisakhi rains was short-lived.

In coastal parts of Odisha, humidity above 60 per cent was recorded which rightly justifies the humid conditions experienced. As many as 8 districts have been issued a yellow warning for heat wave while 11 districts were given yellow warning for humidity.
