Heat wave in Odisha from May 9

Bhubaneswar: The days of Kalabaisakhi rains in Odisha are numbered as the heat is likely to return from May 9. The temperature will rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius within the next two days.

On the other hand, respite from heat can be seen due to the ongoing Kalabaisakhi but the relief is shortlived as heat wave will return from May 9. The thunderstorm and lightning can be experienced today along with a gusty wind speed of 40 to 50 kmph in seven districts.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning to these 7 districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.

Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for lightning and thunderstorm to 16 districts with a gusty wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph.
