HC Orders Recruitment of 6,000 Teachers in Odisha

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday directed the State Government to immediately fill 6,000 vacant junior teacher positions. The Court’s order comes in the wake of the state’s ongoing recruitment process for 20,000 junior teachers.

After conducting an examination, the government had finalized a list of 16,000 candidates, but approximately 2,000 teachers did not join the service. The Court instructed the state to recruit from the merit list of candidates who passed the exam, ensuring that the vacant positions are filled without delay.

The recruitment is to be carried out on a merit basis as per the Court’s order.
