Hanspal Flyover to be Opened Today

Bhubaneswar: The much demanded Hanspal flyover connecting Cuttack- Bhubaneswar will be formally opened for all on Tuesday said MP Aparajita Sarangi. After much delay, the opening of the Hanspal flyover will be done today at 10.00 am.
The National Highways Authority of India has built the Rs 24.5 crore flyover connecting Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The flyover was a long-standing demand of the commuters as the area had in the recent past become an accident prone zone. The people of Hanspal, Balianta and nearby areas were facing traffic issues. Even the pedestrians faced tremendous issues as it was mostly populated for being a connecting road of the twin cities.
Taking to X, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi said,” Pleased to inform that Hanspal Flyover worth Rs 24.5 crore by NHAI official will be formally opened for all on 21st January,’25 after a long wait of 5 years- my first initiative as MP, BBSR in 2019. Too many technical glitches & contractor’s issues. Visited the site yesterday.
The work for the construction of the Hanspal flyover begain in 2020 and was planned to be completed by mid 2022. However, owing to technical glitches and unsolved contractor issues the work kept pending till 2025.
