Gopalpur sexually abuse case: Police arrests 10 miscreants

Gopalpur: Police have arrested 10 people in the inhumane incident of the college girl being sexually abused by a gang in the Gopalpur on Sunday afternoon. The girl lodged the complaint yesterday and police had detained 7 people in this regard.

According to information, the girl and her boyfriend both college-goers had gone to the beach. Some miscreants on the beach caught them and sexually assaulted the girl. She had lodged a complaint after which the culprits were arrested.

The girl was pursuing her Under-graduation (UG) in Berhampur and did not belong to the Ganjam district. The duo in the Gopalpur sexual assault had gone to the beach in the afternoon. Around 7 pm when they were sitting near the Patha Niwas side of the beach, 10 youths belonging to Hinjili area caught them. At first they abused them, but after that their brutality and cruelty grew. They caught the boy and took turns to assault the girl sexually.

Police had sent the girl from medical examination to MKCG Medical college and Hospital. The locals have demanded strict action. Similarly, the demand for light in the area has also increased.
