Girl Dies in Jumbo Attack

Kendujhar: A young girl was trampled to death by a wild jumbo in a forest near Gurutuan village in Kendujhar district.

Sources said, the young woman identified as Sombari Munda was on her way to her maternal grandfather’s house. On her way, the girl suddenly encountered a wild elephant. When she tried to flee, the elephant trampled her and killed on the spot.

Getting information, the forest department reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for autopsy.  and started investigation into the incident. Worth mentioning, a woman was recently killed by a wild elephant at Ushumandi village under Sundargarh’s Koira forest range. The deceased woman identified as Ituwari Bhadra was trampled to death while she was sleeping in her home. The wild elephant came to her home in search of paddy grains. When Bhadra was running for her life, the elephant chased her and killed on the spot.
