Ghadei made vice president of BJD

Reporterstoday, Bhubaneswar, April 16: BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has reposed faith in veteran leader Prafulla Ghadei by appointing him as the Vice-President of the party.

Along with his appointment, Patnaik made him the observer for three Assembly segments – Ranpur, Khordha and Chilika- and gave him the responsibility of overseeing party’s election process there. Patnaik had lifted expulsion order from Ghadei last month.

Notably, Ghadei was expelled from BJD following publication of one of his interviews in a local daily in 2014 in which he had made some unpalatable remarks against Patnaik.

Former Kendrapara MLA Shipra Mallick and Prakash Das have also been appointed as state general secretaries of BJD.

BJD also released a list of observers for other Assembly segments. While Rabi Narayan Mishra has been named as observer for Hindol Assembly seat, Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo and Niranjan Pujari have been declared as observers for Sambalpur assembly constituency. Similarly, Sushanta Singh will oversee party’s election process as an observer for Kuchinda constituency.

This apart, Sidheshwari Prasad Mishra, Jugal Nayak and Manoj Nayak have been appointed as co-observers for Bhubaneswar-North assembly, Cuttack parliamentary and Kendrapara assembly constituencies, respectively.
