Ganjam Police seizes gold biscuits during ganja checking

Berhampur, Aug 10(Reporters Today Bureau): Gold biscuits worth over Rs 1.2 core were seized by Ganjam Excise officials during a routine check for narcotics substance and arrested one person in this connection on Monday.

The gold was seized at Lanjipalli area of Berhampur city from one person hailing from Maharashtra, police sources said.

The sources said an Excise team found the gold from some passengers were carrying a lot of cash and gold biscuits in their bags.

The arrested accused Bharat Gokhe Naik, a gold merchant from Maharashtra, said that he brought gold from Maharashtra for selling here.

Further investigation is on in the case, the police said.
