Ganjam Bus Mishap: 4 Officials Suspended

Bhubaneswar (Saroj Rout): A day after the tragic bus incident in Ganjam that claimed near about 10 lives, the state Government today suspended four officials, including two Junior Engineers and a SDO for negligence in their duty.

According to reports, four officials, including Jr Engineer Debashis  Nayak and Biswaranjan Mohapatra of SOUTHCO and two SDOs of Rural Development Department have been suspended. A high-level meeting was held in view of the bus tragedy under the chairmanship of Energy Minister Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra today. The immediate action was taken at the meeting, said an official.

Earlier in the day, SOUTHCO submitted its preliminary inquiry report to the Energy Department holding the Rural Development Department responsible for the mishap.
