Gajapati ADM Collapses on Stage

Gajapati: Birendra Kumar Das, Additional District Collector of Gajapati district, collapsed while reciting Jagannath Bhajan on the stage.

Last night, the administration officials organized a gala dinner near the Brundarvan Palace in Paralakhemundi. On this occasion, Das recited the Bhajan “Bhakata Bidura saga Bhaja Nei” on the stage. While chanting the bhajan, he collapsed.

Das was immediately rushed to the Paralakhemundi Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur, where doctors declared him dead. It is suspected that Das died of a cardiac arrest. However, the exact cause of his death will be known after the post-mortem, said doctors.
