Former Lokpal of Odisha, KP Mohapatra passes away

Bhubaneswar, Dec 29: Former Lokpal of Odisha Justice Krushna Prasad Mohapatra passed away at a private hospital here on Friday.

Mohapatra was suffering from old age related illness and was under treatment at the hospitals during last few days. He was 93.

His last rite was performed at Puri Swargadwara in Puri. He belongs to Kalapani in Bargarh district and is survived by wife and three sons.

He was practicing as lawyer before joining Odisha Judicial Service in 1955. He was the law secretary of the state between 1979 and 1983. Later he became a judge in Odisha high court from 1984 to 1990. He was the third Lokpal of the state.
