Flight crashes while taking off near Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: In a shocking incident, an Air India flight crashed in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad while taking off on Thursday.

There were 133 passengers onboard the flight. The flight crashed while taking off. Following the crash, thick blacks clouds of smoke billowed in the sky.

There is no information about the condition of the passengers or any casualties. The flight was heading from Ahmedabad to London from the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Airport.

As per latest updates, there were 242 passengers on the flight. Rescue operations by the fire brigade is underway. After the crash the Boeing Dreamliner 787 caught fire.

The Air India B787 Aircraft VT-ANB, while operating flight AI-171 from (Ahmedabad to Gatwick in London) has crashed immediately after takeoff from Ahmedabad. There were 242 people on board the aircraft, consisting of 2 pilots and 10 cabin crew. The aircraft was under the command of Capt Sumeet.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to the Gujarat Chief Minister, Home Minister and the Police Commissioner regarding the plane crash. He also assured to provide Central government assistance.
