First floodwater released from Hirakud dam reaches Mundali barrage

Cuttack: The first floodwater of Hirakud dam has reached Mundali today. The floodwaters of the Hirakud dam was released on July 6.
As of now, 83,100 cubic centimeter (cc) of water have been released. The water level is much lower than the danger mark at Mundali.
As many as 20 sluice gates of Hirakud dam were opened for releasing the water. The water level at Hirakud dam is now 608.04 feet.
While, 2,33,824 cc of water is entering Hirakud around 4,33,491 cc of water is being discharged.
As the Mundali barrage is constructed on the Mahanadi, people have been asked not to get there.
