Farmer Dies as Untimely Rains Destroys Crops

Kendrapara: In a tragic incident, a farmer died after he suffered crop losses due to the rains. This incident happened in Khamal Gram Panchayat under Derabis Tehsil in Kendrapara district. The deceased has been identified as Daitari Jena.

According to information, he was a share-cropper in three acres farmland. He was farming in 22 gunths land also and had taken a loan of Rs 1 lakh for farming.

The untimely rain in the harvesting season has resulted in crop losses. Finding no other means, the farmer died by killing himself. He was burdened with loans and the untimely rains only overburdened him.
