Family Carries Body on Bike Amid Ambulance Shortage
Subarnapur:In a tragic incident in Subarnapur district, a family was left in distress after they had to carry the body of a deceased relative on a bike due to the unavailability of an ambulance at Binica Community Health Centre (CHC).
Bidyadhar Naik, a resident of Patikarpada village, was admitted to the CHC after complaining of chest pain. Unfortunately, he passed away during his treatment. When the family members sought an ambulance to transport the body for the last rites, they were shocked to find that no ambulance was available at the facility.
Faced with this dire situation and lacking the necessary funds for alternative transport, the grieving family was forced to place the body on a motorcycle, covering it with a black cloth, and transport it to their home.
This heart-wrenching incident highlights ongoing issues with healthcare services in the region, as this is not the first such case of ambulance unavailability at local health facilities.
