Fake job racket busted in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police busted a fake job racket running at a hotel in Bhubaneswar and arrested three persons for their involvement in the racket. The arrested persons have been identified as Babulahari Gouda of Khandara village under Hinjilikatu police station limits in Ganjam district who is at present living in Mumbai, Mahesh Ramchandra Lokhande at Kegaon Taluka Uran in Mumbai and Kiran Shashikant Ghumre who is staying at Ekdant Apartment, Flat No-305, Wing-C,  Ps-Uran, Dist-Raigad, Mumbai. Police also seized resumes of several candidates, forged documents and four mobile phones from the possessions of the accused persons.

On April 20, acting on a complaint by Sunil Kumar Sah, the Protector of Emigrants in Bhubaneswar (Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India), Kharvelnagar P.S Case No.178 dtd.20.04.2025 U/s 61(2)/54/336(3)/340(2)/319(2)/318(4)/62/143(3)/3(5) BNS r.w. S.24 of Emigration Act,1983 was registered regarding an illegal interview being conducted in Hotel Raj Inn under Kharvel Nagar Police Station for alleged recruitment to various posts in Israel.

The police investigation revealed that the accused individuals had widely circulated fake advertisements on social media and used forged documents resembling official notifications from the Ministry of Labour & Employment to mislead the job seekers. The accused persons were collecting Rs 5,000 in advance from each job aspirant and told them that they would collect Rs 70,000 upon issuing (fake) offer letters.
Police also has attained the footages of the CCTV cameras of the hotel in which the accused persons were seen conducting a fake job mela at the hotel and several job seekers were attending the fake job fair. The accused were neither authorized by the Ministry of External Affairs nor by any registered recruitment agency. Swift police action led to the apprehension of three accused persons. This action prevented the huge loss of money of the job seekers.
