Express Train Derailed in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: An express train derailed near Sambalpur City Railway station early today, with no passengers hurt in the incident.
According to reports, the Mahima Goswami train, which was traveling from Kolkata to Sambalpur, derailed near the station on Thursday morning.
Fortunately, all passengers on board are safe. Following the derailment, all other compartments of the train apart from the derailed bogies were disconnected and sent to Sambalpur station, the destination.
Railway authorities have already initiated an operation to clear the track.

Meanwhile an official statement has been released by East Coast Railway, Sambalpur in this matter. The statement reads as follows:
A minor derailment occurred this morning at 09:22 hrs. One trolley of a General Coach of Train No. 20831 Mahima Gosain Express, got off tracked, the train runs from Shalimar to Sambalpur. The incident took place in the Sambalpur city –Sambalpur section, shortly after the train departed from Sambalpurcity at 09:18 hrs at a very slow speed.
No loss of life or property in this incident reported. The Train except the affected coach has already left for Sambalpur with all passengers safely.
Railway officials including DRM at site overseeing early restoration of traffic and inquiring about the incident.
