Excise Superintendent Caught with ₹3 Lakh Unaccounted Cash in Dhenkanal

Bhubaneswar: In a major action, Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday intercepted Excise Superintendent Krishna Nayak and seized ₹3 lakh in unaccounted cash from her possession in Dhenkanal district.

Acting on specific intelligence regarding alleged ill-gotten money, a Vigilance team intercepted Nayak’s SUV at Deulasahi Road while she was en route. During the search, officials recovered ₹3 lakh in cash, which the officer failed to account for satisfactorily. The Vigilance team promptly seized the cash and the vehicle.

Following the interception, search operations were launched at five locations linked to Nayak to investigate possible disproportionate assets and trace the source of the seized money.

Vigilance officials confirmed that the investigation is underway and further action will be taken based on findings from the ongoing searches.
