Excise Department Busts Liquor Smuggling Racket in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking revelation, bootleggers in the city have been found smuggling country-made liquor disguised in cold drink bottles to evade authorities and mislead consumers. The illicit operation was exposed during a surprise raid by the Excise Department in the Ghatikia area on Friday.

According to reports, smugglers were repackaging liquor into soft drink bottles and distributing them to unsuspecting buyers under the guise of regular beverages. Acting on a tip-off, an enforcement team from the Excise Department set up a strategic ambush and caught the smugglers red-handed while they were transporting the contraband.

During the raid, officials seized a significant quantity of illegally packed liquor. Investigations have been launched to track the entire supply chain and identify the masterminds behind this new method of smuggling.
