Elephant Scare in Birmaharajpur

Birmaharajpur (Pramit Pramathes Satpathy): A wild tusker has created a scary day for whole Subarnapur district yesterday. The jumbo was reportedly detached from his group at Lachipur area of the district.

After that the wild elephant made ruckus in whole district by killing one person and several domestic animals. From Lachipur he traveled to Sonepur town via Arjunpur forest by main road. After reaching at district headquarter, the tusker entered into Hikudi village, crossing river Mahanadi. It travelled from Hikudi to Jaloe and then to Birmaharajpur Market via Bamraj and Laturpet.

Three teams of forest officials, one group of TPWODL and local cops frequently watched the activities of the jumbo. According to the latest report, the forest officials got a splendid success, evacuating the wild animal to Jeypur forest. In between the whole scene the electricity supply was stopped for the safety of the elephant as well as of the locals.
