A chief minister is praised or honored when his or her rule is transparent, corruption-free and effective as far as possible. So the role of state administrative officials is very important in this respect. Responsibility of administrative officials depends on efficiency. Fortunately for Odisha, it becomes a prosperous state with many competent administrative officials.

Among them is Hemant Sharma. Hemant Sharma is the administrative officer of the 1995 batch. Hemant Sharma is a well-known and a popular name among the country’s 5,000 government officials, not just the state administration.

He has been able to prove his mettle by working in various departments of the state government. He has been lauded for handling the responsibilities of the department in which he has been assigned. He is currently the Principal Secretary to Government, Industries Department with additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, S.D & T.E. Department and Chairman, IPICOL is allowed to remain in additional charge of Chairman, IDCO in additional to his own duties.

Moreover, during the first wave of the corona epidemic, the state government empowered Sharma to purchase PPE kits, masks, sanitizers and other equipments. He was also appointed Additional Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Under his supervision, the state was praised for its transparency in the purchase of corona medical equipment during the epidemic.
