ED Grills Prafulla Samal’s Son

Bhadrak: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) grilled Prayaskanti Samal, the son of Prafulla Samal, BJD MLA from Bhandaripokhri in Bhadrak district, for approximately 18 hours starting from 10:30 am on Tuesday.

However, talking to the media today, Prayaskanti denied being subjected to extensive questioning by the ED, stating, “I was not asked anything. I will soon provide details when we meet.”

Sources indicated that Prayaskanti underwent interrogation by three separate teams, including a scientific unit of the Enforcement Directorate. Although the officials recorded his statement regarding the Barpada Engineering College land case, Prayaskanti purportedly did not cooperate during the process.

Notably, on February 15, the ED conducted raids on 10 premises associated with Samal, concerning an alleged land scam involving Barapada Engineering College. During the raids, a luxury car and Rs 10 lakh cash were seized from Prayaskanti’s residence. On February 28, Prafulla Samal appeared before the ED officials in Bhubaneswar and was questioned for eight hours.
